Sol Barragán
I am an Ecuadorian photographer currently based in Prague, where I study a bachellors in photography at the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. My practice is rooted in an interest in intimacy, memory, displacement, and the fragile relationship between people and the spaces they inhabit. Through photography, I explore the ways identity is shaped by distance, belonging, and the experience of looking from an in-between position.
Working primarily with analogue, black and white processes, I am drawn to the slowness, uncertainty, and physicality of the photographic image. My work often moves between documentary observation and poetic interpretation, using photography as a way to approach what is quiet, temporary, and emotionally present but not always immediately visible.
